the CHAIR BLOG
Thanks to all who attended our February 13 Republican precinct caucuses. We were excited to welcome grassroots activists, new and old, to our caucuses. Thank also to the Precinct Committee Officers for all their work to organize our big Republican day. The caucuses are a time-consuming endeavor, but they do provide an opportunity to show case our party's commitment to grassroots politics.
Unlike the Democrats, who are not holding precinct caucuses, Republicans value the input of grassroots activists. We want their help to craft our party’s platform heading into the crucial mid-term elections of 2010. The precinct caucuses are the first step towards turning all of the grassroots energy we have seen in the past year into effective political action. The GOP is set to make significant gains at all levels in the crucial 2010 elections. And we’ll do it from the bottom-up.
GOP voters are chomping at the bit to take back our country. Many are ready to get involved in a way we have never seen before. Our Republican themes of economic responsibility, jobs and fighting back against Obama's reckless spending and the expansion of government power in DC are resonating with the Republican base and independent voters and we want to prepare them to surge to the polls in 2010.
What a great time to be a Republican!
